Active Shooter! is a swipe at the depraved American obsession with guns. The form of the work is inspired by newsprint British comics from the 1950s and 60s. Active Shooter! comes with a pull out poster!

He’s since abandoned that field as dead — and has instead taken up direct political action in the form of political cartoons and comic books. Sperandio is an associate professor of art at Rice University, where he founded the Comic Art Teaching and Study Workshop. Sperandio’s comics have been published by Fantagraphics Books, DC Comics and Kuš! Komikss. His works have appeared in anthologies StripBurger, š!, and Kutlul.
